A good hand that you could make even better by flipping it is called a "tell". This is a good deal because when you flip a strong hand, it has a good chance of looking like a call and if it's not a call, it will have a very high buy-in. These would be small bets that would guarantee you a positive return on your money, but you don't want them to be too large because this is where the poker uncertainty comes in. Sometimes a hand may look like a buy-in but a player may do something else that makes them want to back off and force you to fold.
As soon as the flop is played, you have two choices. You can either fold on the flop or play it out. If the flop looks like a bet and the player is calling, it means that the turn would come next. If it is not a call and the turn looks like a pot, you have two options. Play it out and hope that the cards would come up your way or fold and play it out.
Games are different based on the board. The board can have either straight, pocket, and river. A straight would have a pocket, but a river would only have a pocket, not a straight. It is important to watch the board for hidden variables, in particular river boards.
When the river board is in your favor, make sure you get on the river as soon as possible. Keep a tight grip on the poker, and be sure that you are leaning over the table rather than leaning back into the playing surface. Play it as a bluff as much as possible, but when you make a big bet and see that there is no bet at all on the river, you have to fold.
Another reason to fold is when you decide to throw a pot betting. There are times when a player will bet and then lay back after the flop. The player who lays back is called a "blind player" which is a term used in many poker rooms. Before making a bet, a player should make sure that the bet will cover the value of the pot that is in play. In other words, be sure the value of the bet will cover the entire amount that is in play.
When you are lucky enough to get a good hand and you're about to fold, make sure that you look at your opponent's hand for poker uncertainty. Some players call during the flop while others may just play it out after the flop. A player who calls in the early stages of the flop will have an edge for the rest of the game. A player who does not play it out after the flop may have some form of bluffing going on, such as playing a trap or hiding the full house. Therefore, it is important to watch the opponents before you call their bets and make sure that it is not part of their hand.

A key rule to remember when trying to make the most of poker uncertainty is to watch the cards at the table before you make a bet. Many times, it will give you the hint that the hand is weak, but unless you have a hand that will beat it, you need to play it out or fold. To further compound the problem, when it comes to putting money on the table, if you have the right odds and strong cards, it is wise to fold on the flop when you are getting ready to bet.
